Charges are high in PNG, e.g. 40% on Video
equipment. Also when calculating custom charges, the cost of postage (i.e the
landed cost) & insurance is included, which makes a big difference on
airmail packages. e.g. Grandma sends a parcel, containing a shirt valued at
US$10 and 2 bottles of shampoo valued at US$10 and she paid US$18 postage, you
could pay 50% duty, i.e.K80. (approx.
US$35) Customs are not always charged, but it is a possibility.
